Pierce Phillips Charity has fundraising events throughout the year. Our main event is held every year in September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. We need dozens of volunteers and committee members for this event. Your level of involvement can be customized to your availability.
The committees are broken up into the following groups: Silent/Live Auction Items, Restaurant Pull, Corporate Sponsorships, and Golf Classic. Each committee will be headed by one person or a team of two individuals. The committee head(s) will be responsible for conducting meetings with their committee and reporting back to the Board of Directors on their progress. PPC tries to make it fun and easy for our volunteers. The meetings can be held at restaurants, neighbor’s houses, happy hour, barbeques, whatever works for your committee. The Board of Directors with guidance to each committee and oversee the goals for the golf & gala event.
Event volunteers are needed the day of our event to help every detail run as smooth as possible. Volunteers for the event will help with things such as: golf check-in/check-out, auction table watchers, bead sales, restaurant pull, live auction runners, and other miscellaneous tasks.
Pierce Phillips Charity visits The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis on a bi-monthly basis and we need volunteers that enjoy interacting, have a positive and friendly attitude and are reliable to help us with Bingo Night and Candy Cart. Volunteers must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and will need to complete a short interview and orientation with Pierce Phillips Charity prior to volunteering at the hospital.
IMPORTANT: Volunteers cannot volunteer at the hospital if they have communicable illnesses such as colds, strep throat, fever blisters, flu, chicken pox, measles, and pink eye (conjunctivitis). Communicable diseases can be life threatening for children with suppressed immune systems.
